Classic Split Pea Soup Classic Split Pea Soup

Easy to make (but takes some time) version split pea soup that has great flavor and a little texture from the vegetables. Try adding other stuff; I added a couple of leeks we had left over the last time I made it. Chopped them in 1/2" dice like everything else.
